Who we are

We are a multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and allied health practitioners who are united by a shared philosophy and a genuine commitment to the people we work with. Each member of our team brings deep clinical expertise across a broad range of disciplines, and each one is dedicated to ongoing professional development and learning.

What sets our team apart is not just their qualifications. It is the way they show up. Edser Health practitioners are curious, caring, and genuinely invested in outcomes. They take the time to understand the complexity of each workplace, each team, and each individual, because they know that good health outcomes are rarely simple.

Our team has experience across musculoskeletal rehabilitation, developmental kinesiology, sports and exercise physiotherapy, nutritional health, lifestyle medicine, and the latest evidence-based research in injury prevention and workforce wellbeing. Together, they are well equipped to take on organisations of any size, in any industry.

Edser Health was founded in 2005 by Jac Edser, an occupational therapist and lifestyle medicine practitioner with over 20 years of experience in workplace health across Queensland and internationally. Jac leads the team and sets the tone for how Edser Health operates: with integrity, curiosity, and a focus on what actually works.

A bio-psycho-social approach to health

Good health is complex. Our team understands this, and we work with a model of care that reflects it. The bio-psycho-social approach recognises that physical health, mental wellbeing, and social environment are deeply interconnected, and that sustainable outcomes require all three to be addressed.

Biological

We look at the physical body: musculoskeletal health, movement patterns, functional capacity, and the physiological factors that affect how people feel and perform at work.

Psychological

Mental health, stress, cognitive load, and emotional resilience are central to our programs. We do not separate mind from body in how we assess or support workers.

Social

Work itself is a social environment. Relationships, culture, leadership, and a sense of belonging all influence health outcomes. We factor these in at every level of our work.

This is not a framework we have adopted because it sounds good. It is the way our practitioners actually think and work, every day, with every client.

What guides everything we do

These are the principles our team returns to, regardless of the industry, the size of the organisation, or the complexity of the challenge.

Root-cause thinking

We look beyond the presenting symptom to understand why an injury or health issue has occurred, and address it at the source.

Whole-person care

Physical, mental, and social health are inseparable. Every program we design reflects the full complexity of human wellbeing.

Evidence-based practice

Our programs reflect current best practice. We stay across the latest research, frameworks, and clinical approaches, and bring that knowledge directly into our work with clients.

Meaningful outcomes

We measure success by real change. Reduced injuries, improved capacity, and workers who feel genuinely well at and beyond work.

The Total Worker Health framework

Our programs are grounded in the Total Worker Health framework, developed by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). This framework defines worker wellbeing as the integration of physical safety, health protection, and health promotion.

Rather than treating injury and wellbeing as separate concerns, Total Worker Health recognises that the conditions of work, including environment, culture, leadership, and demands, have a profound effect on a person's overall health. Addressing these together produces better, more lasting outcomes for both employees and organisations.

This is why our programs go beyond injury management. We work with organisations to build genuine cultures of health, where workers feel supported, valued, and equipped to thrive.
